Finishing Initial Ground School

This past week I finished up my initial ground school training. The first week consisted of academic training on the systems of the T-34C. We learned everything about everything on the aircraft from the air-conditioning system to the fuel system. The following week we underwent training in the static Cockpit Procedure Trainers (CPTs). We were tasked with memorizing and demopnstrating on-demand all the 30+ emergency procedures for the T-34. This week we went through many briefs ranging from bailout procedures to Operational Risk Management (ORM). After all that ground school we went across the base and checked back in with our squadron, VT-6. There we met our primary Instructor Pilots (IP) or "On-Wing". My On-Wing is a helicopter pilot and seems to be good instructor.

Classing up for Primary

Today, my roommate and I classed up for Primary Training at NAS Whiting Field. Our training will begin with 2.5 weeks of ground school consisting of academics and Cockpit Procedure Training (CPT's). We are now the newest members of Training Squadron Six (VT-6) the "Shooters". It feels great to actually be commencing my flying career.

I'M A SECOND UNCLE!

My cousin Laura and her husband Raj just had a baby! At 5lbs 15oz, Nicholas Raj Patel is now the smallest (and possibly cutest) member of our family. Both Laura and little Nick are doing very well and enjoying the company of family and friends.

Welcome to the family Nicholas! We love you.

Welcome to the new website!

With the help of my brother, we've moved my website to "www.benorloff.com"! Now the official home for everything Ben Orloff. I hope the simpler address will make it easier for family and friends to find my website and stay up-to-date on my crazy life.

Enjoy!

Holly gets a new house

My future Sister-In-Law, Holly, just purchased a new townhouse near Atlanta, GA. She will be moved in by the beginning of October. The pictures shown here are of the model of Holly's floor-plan, Holly's empty home and the private lake in her backyard.
